Abstract

The legal regulations for reducing greenhouse gas emission led to the dynamic development of automotive materials in the last few decades. Car manufacturers are continuously looking for alternative solutions to reduce weight and cost, beside increasing passenger safety. High strength steels and welded blanks could meet such requirements. However the behavior of Tailor Welded Blanks (TWBs) during forming is still not known in details. It could be traceable for the different properties of the different segments, such as inhomogeneous thinning, or not uniform anisotropy. Literature reviews and our former researches [22,23] pointed that the classic ductility features and technology tests’ results could be considered by new approach in the field of TWBs.
